Handy Chicago Websites

Resources for General Visitor Information

Chicago Traveler I really like this simple, easy-to-use site with plenty of visitor info.

Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau Covers all the basics; you can also view an online Visitors Guide and order a free travel kit, including map.

City of Chicago Here’s a link to the Office of Tourism section of the Chicago’s government website. It’s a government site, thus a bit confusing and cluttered … but worth a try.

NY Times Chicago Travel Guide I’ve recently discovered these helpful world-wide travel guides from the New York Times online. Some content is written by Times staff writers, the rest is from Frommers.

And of course, those reliable travel sites Fodors.com and Frommers.com (and their comprehensive guidebooks) always have excellent basic visitor info.
