I really enjoyed my afternoon shopping on Armitage Ave and Halsted Street. (It helped that I happened to be there in July during their annual Summer Sidewalk Sale!)

You’ll find smaller, mostly independent boutiques along Armitage between Orchard Street and Racine Avenue offering apparel, home decor, jewelry, bath and body, gifts and accessories.

On busier Halsted Street, between Armitage and Fullerton Parkway, you’ll find upscale, fun and trendy chain stores which cater to a younger clientele. Barney’s New York CO-OP is at 2209-11 N. Halsted, between Webster and Belden.
